Moving Sale & Bash
October 22nd
We all hate to move unless we are fortunate enough to move to some exciting, exotic locale. Sadly, PerficalSense will not be moving to London, Morocco, or Tahiti, but happily we are only moving 2 doors down to join our creative endeavors with Evanston Print and Paper. Eileen, Vanessa and myself as true creative souls like to collect a lot of "stuff". To make room for me to move in we need to have a little sale, treasures that possibly you can use along your creative path or in your home. So come join us to shop or just check out the new spaces. PerficalSense will continue hosting great artists, workshops and will even have a space for a shop area so keep us in mind for unusual gifts and cards.

2nd Annual Holiday Sale
Saturday, December 3, 10AM - 6PM
Sunday, December 4, 10AM - 5PM

We had so much fun the last time we are going to do it again, this time in a larger space, my new home at 1123 Florence. Because we have so much space we have invited more artists so I hope you can join us for a bit of shopping and a bit of wine and cheese. Guaranteed to be less hassle and more interesting than fighting the mobs at the mall. We are striving to be oh so civilized with some really great artists, jewelers and potters. Evanston Print and Paper will be offering marvelous gifts in the paper arts that you could never find in your average stationary store.

Janie graduated from George Washington University in Washington D.C. with a B.A. in Fine Arts. While there she also studied at the Corcoran School of Art. Intuitive Collage and Encaustic Techniques
Sunday, January 15th, 10AM - 4PM

Collage art is a powerful vehicle for allowing ones personal story to be told. By letting go of attempts at controlling the outcome, force the story or design, and learning to trust the intuitive voice within, it is possible for anyone to create a work of art that is a deeply personal expression of the story within.

The first half of this class will help the student to break free of the fears or stumbling blocks that are frequently encountered when beginning a project or trying a new technique. There will be some discussion about using “precious materials”, working intuitively, trusting the creative voice within, and following that voice to a satisfying finished work of art.

Take a break for lunch, and then come back to the table ready to complete your masterpiece with a protective layer of encaustic wax. Demonstrations will include basic application, the use of stencils, photo transfers, applying color, adding objects, and displaying the finished work.

The students should leave the workshop with at least one completed work of art and the knowledge to apply these techniques to other projects. Supplies will be provided but the student may wish to bring papers and collage items from home for a more personal experience.

Class fees: $120 includes all materials

BIO
Crystal Neubauer is a Mixed Media Collage Artist drawn to the broken, cast out, and overlooked items of the past. She sees beauty in the mundane, brings new life to forgotten objects, and finds the process of salvaging old materials and creating new art to be therapeutic and healing.

Working in total silence, she describes the process as worship; her abstract collages an unspoken “heavenly language”. In an intuitive process, Crystal has taught herself to tune in, to be present in the moment, allowing her thoughts and feelings to be expressed visually. She sees viewers of her work respond on a visceral level and is deeply moved to be a conduit for releasing such personal emotions.

Call for more infomation in regards to rental of equipment for working with encaustics.
